Mary graduated from Southport High School, in 1951. Mary worked as an engineer for AT&T and retired in 1993 after over 25 years of service. Mary enjoyed trying her luck at the casinos, camping and fishing. She was a lifelong Republican and a loyal watcher of Fox News Channel.

JAMES DALE BEWLEY II, 44, father, James Bewley (Ann); sister, Melissa Bewley; grandmother, Wilma Bewley; stepsiblings, Russell Romine, Marie Berry; fiancé, Katrena Hadley; her daughter, Justice Hall.
Jim was a 1997 graduate of Perry Meridian High School. He worked for Allison Transmission.
Growing up, Jim played many sports and excelled at baseball. As a young teen, he was diagnosed with cancer, which he fought and beat during his teen years. He enjoyed Indy racing and fishing, but his favorite was Notre Dame sports, especially, football.

RANDY C. BLACK, 71, children, Aaron Black, Laura (Immanuel) Jones, and Elizabeth (Kevin) Downs; six grandchildren.
He graduated from Southport High School, joined the Navy, and studied computer programming at IU. Randy had a rewarding career with Hurco Mfg. but had a truly fulfilling life with family and friends.
Randy was the originator of dad jokes, collector of matchbooks, king of high fives, conquerer of slot machines, and always treated appetizers as entrees; his laughter was contagious, and he was incredibly generous with his time and his love.

JOANNE BURKHARD, 68, husband, David Burkhard; daughters, Molly and Elizabeth Keshena, Kelly Guinan, Annie and Katie Burkhard; siblings, Marilyn Hess, Kathleen Riley, Mike Rogers; seven grandchildren.
She was an artist and her paintings were shown in many juried shows in Indiana galleries and she won many awards.
After completing her MSW from the IU School of Social Work and becoming licensed as an LCSW, she joined David in private practice and formed Burkhard Counseling.
JoAnne and David loved traveling and encountering nature in the outdoors.

JERRY KEITH CHAPMAN, 85, wife, Julia Chapman; daughters, Tonya (Shelby III) Howard and Nicole (Greg) Webb; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
He proudly served his country in the Army National Guard, Army Reserve and U.S. Army.
Jerry was a die-hard UK basketball fan. He loved watching racing, especially when his grandson was behind the wheel. Jerry loved coaching his daughter’s softball teams. He never met a stranger and always had a smile and a story to share.
He retired from Mack Trucks.

GEORGE EDGAR COPELAND, 88, wife, Kathy Copeland; widower of Anna Rose; children, Grace (Baron) and Art; stepsons, Emmet and Tony; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson.
George enjoyed traveling, was an avid sports enthusiast, and a lifetime farmer. He proudly served two terms on the Clark-Pleasant School Board.

Pam graduated from Southport High School where she would talk about being a “Cardinalette”, and cruising the Tee Pee on the weekends.
In her “retired” years, she became a Starbucks barista. Before that, she had been a bridal consultant, receptionist, office manager and florist.
She will be remembered by her big smile, sense of humor, and that she knew no stranger.

JULIA B. HUSER, 85, widow of Ronald Huser; daughter, Kimberly (Jim) Daniel; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
Julia was devoted to her job at Eli Lilly & Co. for over 30 years. She cherished her children and enjoyed taking them along on travel, boating, and camping adventures. She enjoyed playing on a bowling league at Beech Grove Bowl. She loved winning at bingo, euchre, and other card games.

JOYCE L. MCCLAIN, 92, widow of Richard McClain; children, Jodi Darling, Rich McClain; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
Joyce was the salutatorian of Southport High School’s class of 1949. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and embraced friendship and camaraderie. She loved playing bridge and euchre.
As a Weight Watchers discussion leader for over two decades, she motivated countless individuals to achieve their goals and lead healthier lives.
She made every person she encountered feel valued and cherished.

BRENDA MEREDETH, 66, husband, Jeffrey Meredith; children, Kelly (Brian) Roth and Luke (Jessica) Meredith; six grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Rhonda Reynolds, Joy Weaver.
She graduated from Southport High School, class of 1974.
Brenda worked as a project manager for Eli Lilly and retired in 2016. She enjoyed shopping, going to the beach, gardening. She loved inviting her family over for the holidays. Brenda’s outgoing and feisty personality made her the perfect matriarch for her family.

DONNA JANE GREEN MOELLER, 82, husband, William Moeller; children, Leesa Kramer, Becky (Paul) Puckett, Susie (Scott) Simpson; brother, Lawrence (Patti) Green; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson.
She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church. She was an administrative assistant at Precision Rubber Plate Co. retiring after many years.
Donna was a graduate of Franklin Township High School. She had a beautiful singing voice and was a talented piano player. Donna was an outstanding cook, an avid sports fan, cheering for the Colts, Pacers, Boilermakers and Hoosiers and, all of her grandchildren’s teams.

JANE HARRIS MOWRER, 91, widow of Philip Mowrer; daughter, Janelle Mowrer (Larry) Bracken; two granddaughters.
Jane graduated valedictorian from Princeton High School in 1950. Jane’s greatest legacy, however, was her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother who cherished her family above all else.

CAROLE ANN POPE, 81, widow of Roger Pope; children, Richard (Janet), and Shawn Bryson, Alicia Sunshine (Randy Hull) Beyers; siblings, James (Karen), Michael (Pat), Garry (Karen) and Steven Quattrocchi, Linda Dickson, Betty Adams; four grandchildren; one great-grandson.
Carole owned and operated the former Sisters’ Place, a renowned restaurant and staple of the near Southside for more than 30 years. For a time, she owned a piano bar called The Mellow D Lounge. She enjoyed trips to Las Vegas, Colts, music, the sun and ice cream. She was a kind and generous soul who loved and cared for her family and employees.

Jim retired at 80 after 57 years at Kennedy Tank & Mfg. He also served in the National Guard.

WILLIAM L. REINHARD, JR., 73, wife, Susan Reinhard; children, Katie Eastburn and Scott (Ali) Reinhard; two grandchildren; siblings, Kathy Sauer, Jeff Reinhard.
He started his career as a middle school history teacher before moving into sales after the birth of his daughter. He spent 17 years at Endress+Hauser.
Bill was a lifelong tennis player. He served as an assistant coach for the Center Grove Women’s Tennis team. He loved spending time with his family, playing and watching tennis, traveling, hiking in the mountains, and bicycling.

MARY J. TEETERS, 71, Mary attended Harry E. Wood High School, then went to work for Holiday Inn Express and Goodwill. Mary loved people and if you were her friend, you knew it.
