The women’s basketball team from the University of Indianapolis will return to the friendly confines of Nicoson Hall at 7 p.m. Dec. 15 to meet Indiana University Kokomo after a road game Dec. 10 against Cedarville (Ohio).
The Greyhounds (5-3, 1-1, Great Lakes Valley Conference), having played six games away from home, defeated Wisconsin-Parkside 70-57 Dec. 1 behind the 29 points of Sydney Brackemyer and the 15 points of Nicole Anderson. The team lost to Lewis (Illinois) 61-43. Martha Burse scored a team-high 16 points.
The men’s squad (2-5, 0-2) has also been traveling a lot and lost to Wisconsin Parkside 63-61 Dec. 1 and to Lewis 75-70 Dec. 3. D.J. Davis scored 15 points in the Wisconsin game, and Roncalli graduate Jimmy King and Jesse Kempson each added 10. King scored 16 against Lewis.
Next up for the Greyhounds is a home date Dec. 10 at 1 p.m. against Olivet Nazarene.
Marian’s men’s team (7-5, 0-3 Crossroads League) had a rough week, losing to St. Francis 91-79 Nov. 29 and to Spring Arbor (Michigan) 85-73 Dec. 3. Perry Meridian graduate Curtis Green scored 13 points against St. Francis.
The Knights travel to Anderson for a 7 p.m. game today.
The women’s squad (10-1, 3-0) defeated St. Francis 72-57 Nov. 30 behind the play of Roncalli graduates Kellie Kirkhoff and Rachel Titzer, who scored 15 and 14 points respectively. The ladies also defeated Spring Arbor 72-45 Dec. 3. Kirkhoff scored 12, Titzer, 4.
Indiana Wesleyan visits today, and there is an away game against IU Northwest Dec. 10 before traveling to Fort Lauderdale, Fla., for the Keiser Classic Dec. 16 and 17.
