Coach’s comments: “Finally, our offensive line should be a real strength for us for the first time since I’ve been here. We have good size, good experience, and the kids have worked hard in the weight room. Hopefully we can follow them to some success this year. We do have some good underclassmen coming out to help us with depth. We have holes to fill on defense. We will be athletic. “We have to stay healthy up front because we aren’t deep. We are trying to limit the number of players going both ways but that is hard to do. Without Isaiah we have to make up for his rush yards with multiple guys and with more passing yards. Our main goal is a winning season, then conference champion and sectional champion, which has never been done here before.”

Coach’s comments: “This is my fourth year here, and we are coming off our best summer of conditioning, instruction of our offensive and defensive formations and skill development. We are not doing as much reteaching. Our offensive line is our strongest focus since I’ve been here. They are our older guys and most experienced. We are not heavy on receivers. Defensively, we will have a young and inexperienced secondary. Our hope is that our front seven will be strong enough that our deep defenders will be experienced when we go into sectionals. “We are trying to cut down on our players going both ways; we only have two players like that. We have good leadership for our younger guys. Our depth overall will be a challenge at certain positions but not a huge problem. Our schedule is always strong. We have added five new teams. We feel confident and excited about going into the season. We want to beat that 5-5 record, turn it into a winning season.” |
