Franklin Central’s girls swim team finished second in the Conference Indiana championships Saturday at the Indiana University Natatorium at IUPUI.
The Flashes opened the meet by winning the 200-yard medley relay in 1 minute, 52.74 seconds with juniors Abby McCormick, Regan and Rachel Schiffli and Kathryn Matthies. Rachel Schiffli was runner-up in the 50- and 100-freestyle races. Regan Schiffli was second in the 100 breaststroke. The Flashes closed the meet with a runner-up finish in the 400-freestyle relay with the Schifflis, Matthies and Elise Miller. The 200-freestyle team was third. Perry Meridian’s Midori Adams captured the 1-meter springboard title with 342.45 points. Franklin Central’s depth resulted in 369 points, trailing only champion Bloomington South with 433 points. Perry Meridian was sixth. |
