The Department of Environmental Management has issued a permit to Beech Grove to remove two underground fuel storage tanks on municipal properties.
The city will remove the tank at the Department of Public Works and the tank behind the police station. The program is designed to protect the environment while isolating our fuel dispensing to one location.
As part of the program, above ground tanks will be removed at Sarah T. Bolton Park, the fire station and at DPW. A new above ground fuel tank will be installed at DPW, which will serve as the sole dispensing site.
On another note, work will soon begin on another sanitary sewer project.
A friendly reminder that the city will offer free paper shredding from 9 a.m.-noon Saturday, Nov. 14, behind City Hall, 806 Main St.

Mayor of Beech Grove
