Don Henderson, who retired from teaching at Beech Grove Middle School in 2003 after more than 30 years, is calling it quits again from the district – this time as a woodworking and electrical expert, positions he’s he held since 2004. Seen with South Grove Intermediate Principal Tonya Reid, Henderson’s last day was April 1.
Assistant Superintendent Tom Keeley stated, “Don's dedication and excellence to our school system, from teaching industrial arts to working as the maintenance go-to guy has been remarkable. Don’s quiet and friendly nature has endeared him to the staff and students of Beech Grove City Schools. We wish Don the best of luck in his second retirement.
"Don the Builder" cake (right) was served at his retirement party as Henderson always had his tool belt handy.
