![]() SUBMITTED PHOTO Perry Meridian senior Nathan Mertz has been appointed to the Indiana Legislative Youth Advisory Council. The council is overseen by the Indiana Bar Foundation and provides the General Assembly with information concerning issues important to youths. He is a member of the National Honor Society and has served as a Senate page for five legislative sessions. Mertz is seen with Perry Township Schools Superintendent Pat Mapes (left) and his parents, Jennifer and Ken Mertz, secretary of the school board.

![]() SUBMITTED PHOTO Perry Meridian Sixth Grade Academy has named its Students of the Month for October. The children were recognized for following the school’s R.O.A.D. to success program. R.O.A.D. stands for respecting your peers, owning your education, addressing adults appropriately and demonstrating good behavior. The children were treated to a catered lunch by Pizza Junkiez and received freebies from Wheels of Wonder, Turkey Hill gas stations and Barnes & Noble.
