Beef & Boards Dinner Theatre kicks off its 46th season on just the right note Friday as it presents the romantic comedy “They’re Playing Our Song.” Based on the book by Neil Simon with music by Marvin Hamlisch, the production features David Schmittou as Vernon Gersch, a popular and successful composer, and quirky and impulsive Sonia Walsk (Sarah Hund), a lyricist and poet who admires his many accolades. They approach their work differently – Gersch completely immerses himself while Hund is more of a free spirit. But the success of his first piece that pairs with her lyrics is so good that they decide to continue to work together. Their relationship becomes a roller coaster of ups and downs professionally and personally, but they are destined to find harmony and a happy ever after. Tickets cost from $45 to $70 and include a buffet dinner. A show schedule is listed at www.beefandboards.com, and reservations can be arranged by calling 317-872-9664. |
