As part of Indy Jazz Fest on Aug. 7, Indiana Landmarks’ Rapp Family Gallery, 1202 Central Ave., will feature photographs of Indy’s jazz scene by Mark Sheldon. The exhibit, which features a photo of Billy Wooten (left), can be viewed for free from 6-9 p.m. The program will be accompanied by performances by saxophonist Rob Dixon, bassist Nick Tucker and drummer Brian Yarde. In addition, historian and author David Williams will sign copies of his new book, “Indianapolis Jazz: The Masters, Legends and Legacy of Indiana Avenue.” SUBMITTED PHOTO |
