The Broadway musical made its debut in 1972, but audiences remember it for the movie classic starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John in 1978 that was nominated for Academy awards. At Beef & Boards, audiences can see the iconic musical come to life and enjoy a buffet dinner. Grease features the hit songs,
“Greased Lightnin’,” “You’re the one that I Want,” and “Summer Nights.” The musical takes audiences back to 1959 when Sandy Dumbrowski, the new girl in town, and Danny Zuko, the school’s coolest greaser, have a secret summertime romance. But when classes start at the infamous Rydell High School, everything turns around. Sandy attempts to navigate the tricky social waters and catch Danny’s attention again, but Danny is chiefly concerned with maintaining his tough-guy reputation. In the end, the Pink Ladies help Sandy figure out how to win him back.
Sarah Daniels and Kaleb Lankford, in the roles of Sandy and Danny, lead the many performers in the cast who are making their Beef & Boards debut in this production. Grease is rated PG-13. Tickets range from $45 to $70, and include chef Odell Ward’s dinner buffet, fruit and salad bar, unlimited coffee, tea and lemonade. For reservations, call the box office at 317-8729664.
