St. John’s United Church of Christ, corner of U.S. 31 and Southport Road, will hold its annual “blue” Christmas service at 5:30 p.m. Saturday. The worship is designed for those who find it difficult to be in the Yuletide spirit because of an illness, unemployment, grief or loneliness. Sunday’s service at 10:30 a.m. will feature the Joyful Noise Handbells ensemble and carols. Christmas Concert and Pitch-in Luncheon
The Johnson County Council on Aging and The Social of Greenwood will host a free Christmas concert by the Brown County Dulcimer Society at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Greenwood Community Center, just south of Main and Meridian streets and behind the fire station. The performance will be followed by a pitch-in luncheon, during which Santa is expected to make an appearance. Those attending should call 882-4810 to tell the receptionist what kind of they dish they plan to bring.
‘The Nutcracker’ Will Be Staged at Beech Grove High School
Beech Grove High and the Dance Refinery will present “The Nutcracker” at 7 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at the school’s auditorium, 5330 Hornet Ave. Tickets are $8 through Thursday, $10 at the door. Info: 881-1905.
