Kern said she creates art to help process her thoughts about life, and she uses her work as a release and a voice to communicate to others.
Inspired by Joseph Cornell, Frida Kahlo and Marcel Duchamp, her work represents symbolism, contradiction, defiance and social commentary through the use of recycled and up-cycled materials.
Her current work is titled “Sinners and Saints: A Fine Line in Life, in which she uses the juxtaposition of vintage stag film heroines and religious shrines to explore the fine line between one’s choices in life.
The evening will also feature music by Jeremy of the Bleeding Keys.
