While Old Man Winter has arrived in a frightful fashion, all things are toasty and cheery at the Garfield Park Conservatory, where the tropical paradise has been transformed into a holiday wonderland with hundreds of brilliant poinsettias and model trains that run through villages and exotic plants.
Known as Conservatory Crossing, the annual show runs through Jan. 1 and is a Christmas tradition not to be missed, agree the park’s staff.
As darkness falls, the conservatory is illuminated with thousands of twinkling lights, which create an enchanting holiday atmosphere.
The exhibit may be viewed from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and 1-5 p.m. Sundays, with extended hours until 8 p.m. Dec. 16, 17, 21, 22 and 23. Admission is $4 per person or $10 for families (maximum of two adults). Call 317-327-7184 for more information.
