Applebee’s Hosting Fundraiser for Fallen Officer
All Indiana Applebee’s restaurants, including the Greenwood ones at 1251 N. U.S. 31 and 874 S. State Road 135, will host a “Dining to Donate” event from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 10, to raise funds for the family of fallen Southport Police Lt. Aaron Allan. Fifteen percent of each participating party’s bill will be donated to the Allan Family Fund. Guests should mention the benefit when ordering.
Benefit Concert for Hurricane Irma Victims
A benefit concert for victims of Hurrican Irma will be staged from 7:30-10:30 Friday at the MacAllister Center for Performing Arts at Garfield Park, 2450 Shelby St. The performers are the Indianapolis Gordon 500 Pipers, Barbender and The Carl Storie Band. Those attending will be asked for a $10 donation. Everyone is welcome to bring a picnic basket and enjoy the music under the stars.
Children’s Fall Camp at Garfield Park
A fall break camp for children ages 6-12 will be hosted by Garfield Park and University of Indianapolis students from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday, Oct. 9-13, at the park’s Burrello Family Center, 2450 Shelby St. The camp costs $50 and features science and art activities, sports, games and a field trip.
