The mission of “Because I Can” is to inspire and ignite a passion for fitness.
Shot last year with on-location interviews and race highlights, the film will be used to generate excitement about the marathon.
The runners are:
• Mike Fremont, world record holder in the 91-year-old age category for the half-marathon.
• Alana Hadley, 17: U.S. record holder in the ages 14 and 15 group in the half-marathon.
• Colleen De Reuck, 50: four-time Olympian in the marathon.
• Scott Spitz, 37: 2008 Indianapolis Monumental Marathon half-marathon winner.
Those attending the program, which will start around 9 p.m., are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs, blankets and picnic baskets laden with goodies. Food trucks will be on-site.
The film will also be shown through August on Indianapolis Government Access Channel 16. Visit www.indy.gov/eGov/Channel16/Pages/home.aspx for times.
