Pet Carnival IndyVet Emergency & Specialty Hospital, a 24-hour facility located at 5425 Victory Drive, will host its 20th annual Pet Carnival from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday. Questions About Refugees Answered Heidi Smith from the Indianapolis Archdiocesan Refugee Resettlement program will speak at St. Mark Catholic Church, 535 E. West St. from 9-11 a.m. every Tuesday and Thursday. Suitable materials include antifreeze, paint, brake fluid, batteries, drain and toilet bowl cleaners, fluorescent light bulbs, adhesives, pesticides, pool chemicals, thermometers and used motor oil.
Launch Party for WTTS Can Concerts City Barbeque is sponsoring the WTTS Can Concerts, and its Downtown location, 621 W. 11th St., will host a launch party from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, July 19. The event will feature live music and special guests. Those who donate canned or nonperishable goods to the Dayspring Center Family Emergency Shelter will be entered for giveaways. The restaurant at 7863 S. U.S. 31 will accept canned goods throughout the month. For every five cans that guests donate, they will receive coupons for two free sides. The concert series kicks off Aug. 2 with Phillip Phillips at The Vogue.

In commemoration of John Dillinger’s death, author Carol Sissom is hosting a classic car show from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday, July 22, at Bubba’s 33, 7791 S. U.S. 31. Sissom is encouraging everyone with Prohibition gangster era cars to enter them.
