With the help of his brothers, Joseph (center, Tim Wessel) shows off the colorful coat that he received from his father in Beef & Boards Dinner Theatre’s production of “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.” Featuring rock, country, pop and calypso music, the Bible-based show is based on the Old Testament story of Joseph, the favorite of Jacob’s 12 sons. Jealous about the coat that Joseph received, his enraged brothers abduct him, destroy the coat, and sell him into slavery. Down, but not out, Joseph finds that any dream will do for him to be happy again – and possibly even reunite his family. Tickets range from $42.50 to $67.50 and include a buffet dinner. Discounts are available for children ages 3-15 and groups of 20 or more. A show schedule is listed at www.beefandboards.com, and tickets can be reserved by calling 317-872-9664.

SUBMITTED PHOTO The award-winning artwork of Patricia A. Good Payne is on display throughout February at the Southside Art League, 299 E. Broadway St., Greenwood. Good started painting as a youth and went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in art education from Ball State University. She studied calligraphy at Purdue and later worked with a commercial artist, continued studies at workshops and has honed her talent through the years. A lifetime hobby of photography stimulates compositions in watercolor and acrylics. Good says she inherited her skills from her grandfather, Nathan Stanley Good, who was a sign painter in the late 1900s. The gallery is open 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and by appointment (call 317-682-0082). |
